Know Bill and Melinda Gates Officially Divorced
The surprising news came from billionaires Bill and Melinda Gates. The philanthropic couple announced that their second marriage had ended and decided to divorce.
Bill and Melinda announced the divorce through their respective personal Twitter accounts.
“After much deliberation and effort for our relationship, we have made the decision to end the marriage,” Bill wrote on Twitter with the handle @billgates.
“For more than 27 years, we raised three wonderful children and built a foundation that works around the world to enable everyone to live healthy and productive lives,” added Bill.
Bill said that even though he and Melinda divorced, they would still share the trust of each other to continue the mission of their foundation, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

In the article, Bill also said that he and his family wanted privacy to start a new life. Melinda also uploaded the exact same text via her Twitter account with the handle @melindagates.
As reported by CNBC, until now the financial details of Bill and Melinda’s divorce have not been known.

The two sat together at a dinner in New York at that time. They were then in love with each other after a few months of meeting.
“We really care about each other and there are only two possibilities, either we break up or we get married,” Bill says in the Netflix documentary Inside Bill’s Brain: Decoding Bill Gates.
Meanwhile, Melinda seems to continue to prioritize methodologies including matters of the heart, where the 56-year-old woman writes a list on the blackboard “pros and cons of marriage” before moving on to a more serious level with Bill.
They both then decided to get married in 1994 in Lanai, Hawaii. It is said that at his wedding, Bill chartered all the local helicopters to keep out uninvited guests.
