Yaniv Louis Schulman, better known as Nev Schulman, was born on September 26, 1984 in New York. After 5 years of dance lessons, he started working in photography. At the age of 19, he partnered with his older brother, fellow actor and producer Ariel “Rel” Schulman, and created their own business. Among other things, Ariel helped with his younger brother’s documentary Kamureg, as well as with Paranormal Activity 3 and 4. By the way, he comes from a Jewish family.
In 2004, he started taking photography even more seriously: he started photographing dancers, mainly ballet dancers. Later, magazines such as Vogue, The New York Times, Lucky, New York Magazine, New York Sun or Dance Magazine demanded his work.
CATFISH
Nev’s great story began in 2010: he met a girl named Megan Faccio on the Internet, and then the young people arranged a meeting. Unfortunately, the romance ended on a sour note as Megan was not who she claimed to be, but she and Nev remained friends. His brother and companion – Henry Joost – accompanied the story throughout, thus the Kamureg documentary was born.
After her story spread to different countries, seeing her example, she received thousands of e-mails, which inspired her to help other people. He then signed a contract with MTV to create his own show, Kamureg. The series debuted on the channel in 2012 and is currently airing its 5th season. Since then, they have been receiving more and more letters with his partner, Max Joseph, and they are happy to help find out what the truth is.
In the fall of 2014, he published his own biographical book, “In Real Life”, where he writes, among other things, about internet relationships and his experiences with the series.
