Csaba Vastag was born on February 11, 1982 in Budapest. He has two younger brothers: Tamás and Balázs. Even at school, he won a poetry competition despite his speech impediment. He spent 7 years at the Petőfi Theater in Veszprém, where he entered as a dancer. 

At the age of 11, he was dancing acrobatic rock and roll. In 2000, he graduated from the Industrial Vocational High School and High School in Veszprém. He was also a student at Pannon University in Veszprém. He lived in a happy relationship with Kata Bors for many years, but they broke up in 2011. Since 2017, he has been in a relationship with Fruzsina Görgényi, the actress from Barátok közt.

In the beginning, he was a singer in rock bands. He visited several European countries on various tours. In June 2001, the musical Hair was presented, in which Csaba also played a role.

In 2008, he was ranked 4th in the Hungarian Musician TOP 100 list. This year, he was also chosen as the country’s most popular musical singer.

In 2010, he entered the X-Faktor with his younger brother, Tamás Vastagtalent search competition. Both took the obstacles without a problem. Csabi performed Robbie Williams’ song “Let Me Entertain You” at the qualifier, which completely swept Ildiko Keresztes off his feet. The jury found Csabi’s presentation a bit mannered, but they passed it on unanimously. 

He also performed well in the following rounds and finally made it to the top 24 performers. His mentor was Feró Nagy in the over 25 categories, who allowed him to go on to the live show. During the show, Csabi had to duel twice. He faced his younger brother first, and after a dramatic sibling duel, the jury found Csaba to be the better one. He then dueled with Veca, but the jury couldn’t decide, so Csaba went on based on the audience’s votes. Finally, the final took place between him and Nikolas Takács, from which Csaba emerged victorious. 

His first song, Szállj!, was completed in May 2011. is titled Together with his younger brother, Tamás Vastag, they made a joint song entitled Őrizd az slebt, for which a music video was also made. This song was chosen as the national song of the year at the 2012 Phonogram Awards.
